The Outdoor Experience was born out of the idea that outdoor experiences can be fun while also being healthy and educational. Our idea of providing quality outdoor family entertainment while educating responsible environmental stewards, creates a win-win combination.

Not only do we provide fun and educational activities for families, TOE also provides benefits for local merchants and outdoor organizations, contributing to the local economy.

The Concentric Circles of Sustainable Support model (CCSS) shows how local and national outdoor organizations, along with outdoor goods and service providers can combine their interests to achieve the common goal of getting youth, their families and friends outdoors, while at the same time increasing their market exposure and boosting economic activity.

This idea has taken shape through collaborative discussions with nonprofit organizations, local merchants, schools, universities, local, regional and national agencies as well as the participation of local residents. TOE is the culmination of the input and expertise of these diverse groups and individuals in an effort to create an environmentally responsible edutainment* experience that benefits both participants and the local community.

TOE introduces youth, their families and friends to the wonders of the outdoors through the engaging activities and events hosted by local outdoor organizations.

Located in Larkspur, CO, Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park provides the setting for our on-going edutainment offerings involving fauna and flora, local history and good stewardship of the environment.

As a result of our commitment to education and partnerships with leading outdoor groups like Leave No Trace and the International Mountain Bicycling Association, participants will be provided with the knowledge to enjoy the outdoors while limiting their impact on the environment. Staff members are continuously on hand to provide the information needed to responsibly enjoy the outdoors.
