The Outdoor Experience (TOE) is about getting youth outdoors. It’s about promoting outdoor activities for healthier, happier kids and families; about educating responsible environmental stewards and imparting an appreciation for the natural world; about providing a space for community interaction and connecting to other outdoor enthusiasts; about embarking on new adventures and sparking lifelong interests and friendships.

Welcome to The Outdoor Experience website! Here you can learn more about us as an organization in the About Us page, our economic sustainability model on the CCSS Model page, about our facilities in Our Location and planned expansion in The Development. TOE utilizes the collective knowledge and experience of local outdoor associations and organizations in order to provide quality edutainment and events.

We have been working closely with Outward Bound, Leave No Trace, National Wildlife Federation, International Mountain Bicycling Association, Colorado Mountain Club, Colorado Alliance of Environmental Educators, Gateway USA and Choose Outdoors to host events and provide programming for youth and their families. TOE serves as a platform not only for introducing youth to a multitude of outdoor activities, but also for connecting them to local organizations and associations of other outdoor enthusiasts.

We are continuously forging new partnerships in order to offer our participants an even more diverse array of activities and opportunities for more in-depth exploration of their outdoor interests.

In essence, our mission is to encourage youth, their families and friends to engage in more outdoor activities, more frequently and for longer periods of time.

The benefits to regularly engaging in outdoor activities are numerous and well documented.  Studies have shown an improvement in school performance for youth, significant benefits to overall mental and physical health as well as in family well-being. Time spent outdoors provides an invaluable spiritual impact and is an essential part of a balanced, healthy lifestyle.

Community Partners

In addition to bringing more people outside, we are working to ensure the preservation of the environment for future generations by helping youth gain a new appreciation of the outdoors and through teaching responsible environmental stewardship.

Unlike Vegas, what happens at TOE does not stay at TOE. Participants take their experiences with them, share them with others and hopefully continue to engage in their newly found outdoor interests.
