TOE has teamed up with several local organizations, including Outward Bound, Leave No Trace, National Wildlife Federation, International Mountain Bicycling Association, Colorado Mountain Club, Colorado Alliance of Environmental Educators, Gateway USA and Choose Outdoors, in efforts to introduce more youth to the outdoors. Recently, we worked with Choose Outdoors to host a day of outdoor edutainment at Jellystone Park for a group of youth from underserved communities in Denver. For many, it was the first time they had been out of the city and experienced the great outdoors.

Colorado Kids’ Outdoor Bill of Rights

TOE is committed to playing an integral role in providing opportunities to explore the outdoors for many kids who may not otherwise have had the chance.

We at TOE have immense respect for nature and strongly believe that we have a responsibility to preserve our environment and protect its essential ecosystems. For us, sustainability is not optional. In our effort to get more people outdoors, we also feel it is our responsibility to teach responsible environmental stewardship so that more people can enjoy the outdoors while preserving the surroundings they are enjoying.

To help us teach our guests how to enjoy the outdoors while leaving minimal impact on the environment, we have teamed up with Leave No Trace. The Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics is an educational, nonprofit organization dedicated to the responsible enjoyment and active stewardship of the outdoors by all people, worldwide. Seven key principles guide the Leave No Trace ethos and the teachings we will share with our guests so that future generations may enjoy the same splendor of the outdoors that we do today.

Colorado Kids Outdoors!

Colorado Kids Outdoors was formed as a coalition of health, environmental and outdoor recreation organizations and educational institutions, in order to address the need of getting more kids outside and to help give more kids the opportunity to exercise their Outdoor Bill of Rights. TOE is an active participant in this coalition and continues to work with other coalition members to focus efforts on getting more youth outdoors for longer periods of time.
